'If we are to become a nation where a president may torture anyone he wishes, it deserves a broad, sober, fact-based national debate.' Said Brigadier General David R. Irvine who is is a retired Army Reserve strategic intelligence officer who taught prisoner interrogation and military law for 18 years with the Sixth Army Intelligence School. He currently practices law in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Farmers Almanack Question of the Day**
"How long can I keep leftover turkey and stuffing in my refrigerator?"

You should keep stuffing and gravy for only one to two days. Turkey should be fine for three to four days. If you freeze cooked turkey, it should keep for about four months.

Zebra 3 Report Question of the Day**
"How long can this Administration keep US Forces in Iraq?"

Well thats the question of the past couple years. And until something concrete is established you may have want to read this LINK on the "Our Main USA Informant, Mr. Curveball" who provided most of the Bogus Information on Iraq. T

This guy<Curveball>  bullshit about chemical in Iraq is what prompted us into invading that country when we shouldn't have.

This is one of the pictures of where U.N. inspectors searched. This "now-abandoned grain handling facility" in Djerf al Nadaf, is where Curveball has said he helped install equipment on trucks to make biological agents.

On Feb. 8, 2003, inspectors found corn but no evidence of any germs."No threat agents detected," one wrote in his computer journal.

"You see about this Curveball....," said five senior officials from Germany's Federal Intelligence Service, in interviews with The Times that "they had warned U.S. intelligence authorities that the source, an Iraqi defector code-named Curveball, never claimed to produce germ weapons and never saw anyone else do so."
But did US intelligence listen or take heed? ha!

Curveball's information from the last six years was often vague, mostly secondhand and impossible to confirm, say the Germans.

"This was not substantial evidence," said a senior German intelligence official. We made clear we could not verify the things he said. He is not a stable, psychologically stable guy. He is not a completely normal person,"
But Hey Good Enough for us to head into WAR!

Curveball was the chief source of inaccurate prewar U.S. accusations that Baghdad had biological weapons, a commission appointed by Bush reported this year. The commission did not interview Curveball, who still insists his story was true, or the German officials who handled his case.

To nicely put it you could say bungling...., then again an average joe anybody could easily see it as intended corrupt miss-informingly, neglectful, and treasonous!

Such is that, in what was an investigation by The Times based on interviews, which show that U.S. bungling in the Curveball case was worse than official reports have disclosed.
Z3 Readers would know better,
but must we keep letting our leaders bungle us into WAR? And as I was wondering for how much longer can this mistake be played out?

<Originally post written in 2005> * <ed note: its April 2008 today>
The White House, ignored evidence gathered by United Nations weapons inspectors shortly before the war that disproved Curveball's account.

Bush and his aides issued increasingly dire warnings about Iraq's biological weapons before the war even though intelligence from Curveball had not changed in two years.
See, I have read that not only was the administration ignoring warnings of faulty information, but also that they had actually never even PERSONALLY MET CURVBALL?
Taking this "Loser & a liar" as a bearer of good Information and enough pertinent information to use to go to war on Iraq?... And we believed him
....What did you say his name was again......?

Curveball

As I said, at the Central Intelligence Agency, officials believed Curveball's account even though they could not confirm it or interview him until a year after the invasion.

ummmmm....STOPPPPP!

Did you read that ?
"No Interview till ?????.....After?

WHAT ?

And this bad info is all over the subject of accusing Iraq of having WMD and thus causing US to go to INVADE a country and ....

"NO!......" no interview! There was no Interview?

"Holy Stupid Governmental Blunder Batman"

They ignored multiple warnings about his reliability before the war, punished in-house critics who provided proof that he had lied and refused to admit error until May 2004, 14 months after the invasion.

After the CIA vouched for Curveball's accounts, Bush declared in his 2003 State of the Union speech that Iraq had "mobile biological weapons labs" designed to produce "germ warfare agents." Bush cited the mobile germ factories in at least four prewar speeches and statements, and other world leaders repeated the charge.

As I have previously referenced to HERE IN My M 77 blog report ...... we (USA) are the ones it seems, are using Chemicals in Iraq!

Hey! That is what this Joe is reading. You read it for your self!

In a telephone interview, Powell said that George J. Tenet, then the director of central intelligence, and his top deputies personally assured him before his U.N. speech that U.S. intelligence on the mobile labs was "solid." Since then, Powell said, the case "has totally blown up in our faces."

The Neocon agenda was to push for WAR and the "Show" was on

Curveball lives under an assumed name in southern Germany in a furnished apartment, and is taking language lessons, and heheheh!... he does not need to work! His wife has emigrated from Iraq, and they have an infant daughter. He has relocated twice because of concerns that his life was in danger. He is still watched closely.

Curveball could not be interviewed for this report. Germany's Federal Intelligence Service officials threatened last summer to strip him of his salary, housing and protection if he agreed to meet with The Times.

I liked the line that .... Eric Thode, the Republican chairman in DeLay's home county of Fort Bend, told the Houston Chronicle

"It points out that the party is behind (DeLay) and the (Bush) administration is supportive and wants to keep Congressman DeLay in office," (really they are behind theft and crooked politicians?)
hmmmmmm really? HAHAHA are they serious? The guy is a crook ...and they want to help him be re-elected

The following is a copy/paste from a news story on 11-23-05

A campaign fundraiser for embattled Rep. Tom DeLay postponed by Hurricane Rita in September is being rescheduled for Dec. 5 with Vice President Dick Cheney as the headliner.

"It points out that the party is behind (DeLay) and the (Bush) administration is supportive and wants to keep Congressman DeLay in office," Eric Thode, Republican chairman in DeLay's home county of Fort Bend, told the Houston Chronicle in a story published Tuesday.

The most expensive tickets for the event — $4,200 — includes a spot at a VIP reception and a photograph with the vice president.

"Congressman Tom DeLay has been an exceptional leader on Capitol Hill and Vice President Cheney looks forward to helping his re-election effort," said Lee Anne McBride, a Cheney spokeswoman in Washington.

DeLay was indicted earlier this year on campaign finance-related charges in Travis County, an action that forced him to step down at least temporarily as House majority leader..

Tom! Is this your mug shot?

Maybe Jack Abramoff...... will kick in some thousands he pilfered from the Indian Casino Debacles?
Oh! is he in jail now too?

Or maybe some of the other Big Money Players can kick in from the

Jerry Zawada, a 68-year-old Catholic priest, was released last November after spending seven months in a federal prison for trespassing on government property to protest a Fort Benning school he blames for human rights abuses in Latin America.

Undaunted by his sentence, Zawada was arrested again Sunday when he ventured into Fort Benning to call for the closing of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, formerly known as the Army's School of the Americas.

Zawada, of Cedar Lake, Ind., said another jail sentence would be "nothing compared to the suffering of torture survivors and war victims.
"We want to stop this," he said during the annual protest by School of the Americas' Watch, which has held demonstrations outside Fort Benning's main gate since 1990.

Woman GI Publicly Stands Against War as She Faces
Immediate Deployment to Middle East

WHEN: Thursday, November 17, 11:30 AM

WHERE:
Front Gate of Ft. Benning, Georgia on Fort Benning Road

WHAT: Public Statement of Conscientious Objection by Female GI on eve of her deployment to Middle East

Fort Benning, GA – Army National Guard Specialist Katherine Jashinski, on active duty with the 111th ASG since January of this year, will make a public statement against war as a conscientious objector in the face of orders to participate in weapons training and deploy to the Middle East. She will be joined by several members of Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace. Jashinski applied for a discharge as a Conscientious Objector in 2004. The Army recently denied her claim and ordered her to weapons training and deployment this week.
Speakers at the press conference include Aiden Delgado, an Army Conscientious Objector and member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. “Iraq Veterans Against the War supports the right of every soldier to follow their conscience. Today’s revelation that chemical weapons were used against citizens in Falluja is evidence that the war is illegal and immoral.”
Jashinski’s counselor, Persian Gulf War Army Conscientious Objector Aimee Allison, will speak at tomorrow’s press conference. Speaking today, Allison stated, “As the first woman GI to publicly take a stand against this war and to declare herself a Conscientious Objector, Katherine’s actions are very significant. She is showing remarkable courage.”

Jashinski’s lawyer, J.E. McNeil with the Center for Conscience and War, will also discuss her legal status and the case. She comments, “Denying Kathering CO status is yet another in a long line of actions by the military to defy its own rules in order to get the numbers of soldiers they need to continue this war.”
Katherine is actively supported by Code Pink , a women-initiated grassroots peace group. Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink adds, “I applaud Katherine’s courageous stand against the continued U.S. role in bringing violence to the Middle East.”

Father Roy Bourgeois, a Vietnam War veteran and founder of School of the Americas Watch will also speak. Jashinki’s statement comes on the eve of a national demonstration at the gates of Fort Benning calling for the closure the U.S. Army School of the Americas.

“U.S. foreign policy as it exists today is fundamentally out of alignment with Americans’ values of peace and justice.”

Volunteers, Materials No Longer Needed
Some Volunteers Seeking New Location Elsewhere
We Need Help to Get Outta Here

Thats the message being circulated at Waveland Kitchen in Virgina. In a reference to my eirlier post on Z3 Reports
Below is the latest update:

I read out on the web, where there was some harsh words for members of the Virginia Police from members of the Rainbow Gathering group, who have been diligent and steadfast in their support of Hancock County by working the New Waveland Cafe for the Flood & homeless victims. Rainbow people were feeling like they were getting abused and unnecessarily harassed by the new group of Virginia police working there. Word reached the EOC that this was going on and not long afterwords, the sergeant in charge of the police force personally came and apologized for the harsh treatment. Once the EOC made it clearly understood that the Rainbow group had been providing a necessary service, needed LESS police enforcement and had been invited to stay for the long-term, the new Virginia police toned it down and have been working very well with the Rainbow people ever since.
Interestingly enough, the Rainbow group has always clashed with Forestry Service when they gather at National Forests all over America each year; however, they have an excellent relationship with the Forestry people at the EOC.

As things begin to wind down here in Waveland beings this is written on 11-14-05, we are happy to announce that the New Waveland Cafe is no longer in need of more volunteers or materials.
We wish to thank you all for your generosity with your time, prayers and donations. We really made a difference here on the Mississippi Coast and we continually remind folks here that:
We're only the face on a much larger effort.

The New Waveland Cafe will serve its last meal on Thanksgiving, followed by a day of rest, then a Party complete with Parade on Saturday, November 27, down Hwy 90 through the middle of Waveland. By December 1, we expect to leave an empty parking lot and lots of good memories here at Fred's.

I Joe Anybody want to thank THIS GROUP OF HIPPIES that volunteeringly fed 3 meals a day to thousands of flood victims day after day for weeks and weeks
.....real loveing people offering real solutions....durring some really needed times
....I find this group rather interesting with their attitudes and agenda and what their energy is used for on this Earth..,

The National Rifle Association (NRA)

Even with opposition from San Francisco law enforcement and major media outlets,
Proposition H -- a measure banning the lawful possession, sale and manufacture of handguns and ammunition within city limits -- passed yesterday.

The NRA will file a lawsuit challenging this severe gun ban ...which is clear violation of California law.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre stated, “We are disappointed, but this fight is just beginning. Lawful residents of San Francisco are being stripped of their freedom because of an illegal measure that defies common sense. We will fight this outrageous assault on the rights of law-abiding San Franciscans and I believe that we will prevail.”

"Birds of The Feather"

Kenneth Tomlinson, a friend of Karl Rove's who was made head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting with orders to steer it sharply right, was forced to step down on November 4th for skimming cash from the $400 Million budget. He's still the chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, though, even while the State Department has already found evidence of widespread, intentional theft of government funds. The Cheney-Bush Junta model for "defunding liberal institutions" is more aggressive than the old Reagan "zero budget" approach ? they actively loot government institutions until they collapse. But all this criminality is beginning to look like no accident.
Click HERE for an excellent blog article
that is quoting STEPHEN LABATON about this rotton creep Tomlinsom and his little ploys to ruin PBS as we have come to know and love it.

(text/article from Oregonian is below 11-16-05)

-- WASHINGTON --
Investigators at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting concluded on Tuesday that its former chairman had repeatedly broken federal law and the organization's own regulations in a campaign to combat what he saw as liberal bias.
A scathing report by the corporation's inspector general described a dysfunctional organization that had violated the Public Broadcasting Act, which created the corporation and was written to insulate programming decisions from politics.

The former chairman, Kenneth Y. Tomlinson, who was ousted from the board two weeks ago when it was presented with the details of the report in a closed session, has said he sought to enforce a provision of the broadcasting act meant to ensure objectivity and balance in programming. But in the process, the report said, Tomlinson repeatedly crossed statutory boundaries that had set up the corporation as a "heat shield" to protect public radio and television from political interference.

In a statement distributed with the report, Tomlinson rejected its conclusions. He said any suggestion that he had violated his duties or the law "is malicious and irresponsible" and that the inspector general had opted "for politics over good judgment."

The investigators also found evidence that "political tests" were a major criterion used by Tomlinson in recruiting the corporation's new president, Patricia Harrison, a former co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee and a former senior State Department official.
Harrison disputed suggestions that she was motivated by politics.

BURBANK, Calif. - Eight months after Robert Blake was acquitted at a criminal trial of murdering his wife, a civil jury decided Friday the tough-guy actor was behind the slaying, and ordered him to pay Bonny Lee Bakley's children $30 million.
The plaintiffs had argued that Blake either killed Bakley himself or hired someone to do so. The jury was not asked to decide which theory it believed.

None of Bakley's four children was in the courtroom for the verdict
"I know there isn't any money to recover from him," Daughter Holly Gawron said.
"I'm not interested in the money."
