Submarines of the US need their FLEX ROOM
Mood:
sharp
Now Playing: I spy a USA sub in Canadian waters
Topic: WAR
Hello Zebra3 Readers ... Here is an article on the issue of nuclear submarine of the USA..... going up the Strait of Juan de Fuca ....between Canada and the U.S. <i think?> And how for many years the subject of the right to do this was in limbo. Now as the first/last paragraph eloquently expresses.... the US got it's its pro-military-bad-ass-way. The first/last paragraphs by: John Clearwater November 6, 2006 The US Navy, as the premier power-projection force of the United States, would not allow any restriction on travel in waters anywhere in the world. Their blanket position is that the entire world is the operational area for the U.S. Navy, and that there are no sovereign areas. Total freedom of movement remains non-negotiable. ............................................. The Canadian government could congratulate itself on doing what was necessary to protect sovereignty, and the US Navy got what it demanded. With a simple exchange of notes, Canada once more gave up more sovereignty to the United States, and more nuclear weapons would transit through Canada on a regular basis.
Read the complete article here from the website: "PEACE EARTH JUSTICE NEWS" Interesting how the US gets it's way and gets the military submarine access! Somehow as I read this it makes me think of Iraq and Afghanistan ....and subsequently ...that this kind of dominance and such a prolific military superiority attitude seems wrong! At least to this joe anybody something seems amiss! My "radar" of right or wrong just went 0ff

NOVEMBER 17 Update
So all these mass amounts of thefts of "average joe's" personal information is being "scrapped" errrrrr.... I mean stolen day in and day out I forget where I also have read confirmations to my suspicions that our own sneaky government is behind a good portion of this For Big Brother or the CIA or The FBI or for all those Homeland Security departments to get their hands on this stuff that they want and need ...theft is the easiest way. They NEED THIS INFO for their data mining and their "big brother spy networks" to function. Buying the info off the black market or illegally collecting it through thefts and mix ups is the way that their data bases are getting the "needed" information ....which is private stuff on you and me and the average joe anybody. This info is not so readily available to those NEEDING big brother agencies ....so a little pilfering will suffice just fine ......well that is what I suspect is happening Read these two articles below and then follow the links Think about my suspicions and then watch this Data Theft topic continue to expand. Refer back to this page by clicking on link below then bookmark that/this page for latter: SAVE THIS THIS Zebra3 Report Come back right here for added updates as I find out more information in the days ahead. ********************************************************* In September, The Commerce Department disclosed the loss of 1,137 laptops -- many of which contained personal information on Americans. The agency also disclosed that, since 2003, about 297 electronic devices containing sensitive data had gone missing. Documents obtained by WTOP through the Freedom of Information Act, which shows that from 2002 till now, the agency had 478 laptops either lost or stolen. The personal data of taxpayers, including Social Security numbers, were in 112 computers. **************************************************** Officials Clash Over Mentally Ill in Florida Jails In one of the toughest rulings to date on the subject, Judge Farnell said last month that he would start fining the department $1,000 a day for each mentally ill inmate who stayed in the Pinellas County Jail longer than 15 days. The judge, based in Clearwater, expressed outrage about the agency’s “conscious decision” to ignore court orders. **************************************************** Inmate’s Death in Solitary Cell Prompts Judge to Ban Restraints Shackled to a concrete slab, Timothy Joe Souders spent the final days of his life naked and lying in his own urine, sweating through temperatures higher than 100 degrees in an isolated prison cell. Mr. Souders, 21, with a history of severe mental illness, died on Aug. 6 after four days in a segregation cell at the Southern Michigan Correctional Facility in Jackson. His death led prison officials to revise restraint policies for unruly prisoners, limiting “top of the bed” restraints to a maximum of six hours. This week, a federal judge in Kalamazoo, Mich., said the revisions were not enough. Scolding officials for failing to provide adequate treatment to mentally ill inmates, the judge said Monday that the conditions leading to Mr. Souders’s death constituted “torture.” **************************************************** Abramoff Set to Start Prison Term Mr. Abramoff was sentenced in March to five years and 10 months after pleading guilty in Miami to fraud charges involving his purchase of a gambling cruise-ship line. **************************************************** Cheney Asks for Dismissal of Case Vice President Dick Cheney, asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought against him by a former operative of the CIA who says the White House leaked her identity to reporters. **************************************************** California: Groups Sue Over Climate Report Three environmental groups — Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and the Center for Biological Diversity — filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in San Francisco, saying the Bush administration failed to submit a national report on climate change to Congress, as required by federal law. ****************************************************

Kepp your eye on this guy .......
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061109/ap_on_go_co/bolton_un_ambassadorThu By ANNE PLUMMER FLAHERTY, Nov 9, 2006 WASHINGTON - John Bolton's prospects for staying on as U.N. ambassador essentially died Thursday as Democrats and a pivotal Republican said they would continue to oppose his nomination. It was another blow to President Bush, two days after Democrats triumphed in elections that will give them control of Congress next year. On Wednesday, Bush had announced that Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, a polarizing figure and face of the Iraq war, would step down. On Thursday, the White House resubmitted Bolton's nomination to the Senate, where the appointment has languished for more than a year. Bush appointed him to the job temporarily in August 2005 while Congress was in recess, an appointment that will expire when the Congress adjourns, no later than January. ((Read Full Article Here)) Here is a good reason for an example of the type of politics this guy represents my country as......that I totally disagree with....
http://www.zaman.com/?bl=international&alt=&trh=20061112&hn=38205 The United States has vetoed a U.N. Security Council draft resolution condemning Israel’s killing of civilians in the town of Beit Hanun in the Gaza Strip. Washington has vetoed a draft on Israeli operations for the second time this year. In the voting of a draft resolution that would condemn the Israeli attacks in Gaza Strip, and especially the one on Beit Hanun where 18 civilians were killed, 10 Security Council members supported the draft, whereas Japan, Denmark, Great Britain and Slovakia abstained. Despite overwhelming support, the draft was not passed because of U.S. opposition. U.S. Representative to the Security Council John Bolton claimed that the draft did not impartially reflect what was happening in Gaza and said that their objection was based on its unbalanced and biased content. To hell with his Neocon agenda get the bum out of "our" UN position! ~joe Anybody
