Un Patriotic Act Hogwash
Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: Bush & Co is LIEING to You! Patriot Act is not about Patriotism!
Topic: CIVIL RIGHTS

In a court hearing last month, Judge Gladys Kessler expressed frustration
that the FBI failed to release the information while it could still
inform the congressional debate on the PATRIOT Act.
According to Judge Kessler, "the record shows that [the FBI's] efforts
have been unnecessarily slow and inefficient."
(You know what Joe Anybody would say about this don't you Good Readers?)
FBI drug their feet as they had 1000 of pages to fess up and release.

Can I call these guys Bastards?
A damn Judge ordered these document....

"Then again, I suppose a Judge isn't much these days with the Bush-Co-Crowd so why Honor a judges request when the crooks are in control?"

Topic: ENVIRONMENTAL
Buncefield Oil Depot Explodes into Smoke and Fire as three million gallons of fuel burns up into the air.
The large images provided below are at MODIS? maximum resolution of 250 meters per pixel, these images were taken at one hour and then one and a half hours later on the initial day of explosion.

Soon after the explosion on Sunday the smoke plume was highly visible on satellite imagery, this is no longer the case. A residual plume from the remaining controlled fire is visible locally, heading in a southerly direction.

Check out Earth Observatory for the complete story

The extent of the smoke is easier to see in the false-color images, right, which were created using light from the shortwave and near-infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

In these images, the dark smoke stands out clearly against the brilliant green of the plant-covered land. At the source of the smoke, the intense heat of the fire glows in the infrared.

According to news reports:
The fire was the largest of its kind ever seen in Europe.
British health officials advised those living under the smoke plume to remain indoors. The smoke contains small particles, soot, that may cause irritation when inhaled, but no long-term health effects were expected. The smoke also contains gases like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and sulfur dioxide. For more information about the health impacts of the smoke, see the Health Protection Agency Web Site.

The bulk of the smoke from the fire at the Buncefield oil depot is gradually dispersing and diluting in the atmosphere. ( The Met )

**************WHO-WHAT-HOW **************

Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has visited the scene of the blasts which injured 43 people, two seriously. In total, 20 petrol tanks were involved, each said to hold three million gallons of fuel.
A police investigation into the incident has begun, including investigations by anti-terrorist police.
But Chief Con Whiteley said there was "nothing to suggest anything other than an accident". The BBC's Gavin Hewitt said about 100 firefighters were waiting to attack the blaze.

PATRIOT ACT BATTLES
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: ACLU Letter saying No to Patriot Act Reauthorization
Topic: CIVIL RIGHTS
Here is just a small part of the ACLU Letter to Congress.
Link to full letter at bottom of this post after quote. You really need to read this!
A Very excellent letter indeed!

Dear Member of Congress:

On behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union's more than 550,000 members, we write to express our strong opposition to the adoption of the Conference Report on H.R. 3199 (“Report”), the “USA PATRIOT and Terrorism Prevention Reauthorization Act of 2005.” This legislation reauthorizes virtually all of the expiring provisions of the Patriot Act, fails to correct the most flawed provisions of that legislation, creates additional federal death penalties, and includes unrelated legislation that has other civil liberties problems. The agreement to provide a sunset date of four years for three provisions of law does not correct these serious substantive shortcomings.

Unfortunately, the Conference Report fails to fix the most flawed provisions of the Patriot Act, which became law only 45 days after the September 11 attacks. This law represented a significant expansion of law enforcement power at the expense of civil liberties. In the past year and a half more and more evidence has accumulated about the misuse or abuse of the Patriot Act’s extraordinary powers. We hope Congress will reject this bill and embrace the call for meaningful checks on these powers to preserve America’s legacy of liberty.

Nearly 400 communities, including the legislatures of seven states, have called on Congress to bring the Patriot Act into line with the Constitution. In this Conference Report, despite the tireless efforts of many Members and their staffs, Congress has squandered the opportunity to do that. We hope you will have the courage to cast your vote against the Conference Report. Vote for protecting liberty and privacy by rejecting the continued undermining of the Constitution’s system of checks and balances that the Patriot Act embodies.

Thank you for considering our views.

Patriot Act Reauthorization May Be Put Off For 3 Months!?

"See! I Made All Your Rights Vanish, - POOF - GONE!"

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales tells reporters at the Justice Department that he "applauds the House and Senate conferees for coming together to produce a comprehensive USA Patriot Act reauthorization bill," He said the reauthorization of the USA Patriot law would mean "continued security for the United States, and also continued protection of civil liberties for all Americans."

the following was copied from the washington post
Congressional Republican leaders will press for passage of a new Patriot Act to combat terrorism, but a Senate filibuster looms on a measure that liberal and conservative critics alike say is a threat to individual liberties.
President Bush is urging Congress to reach agreement on reauthorizing the Patriot Act _ a law that he says is essential to fighting terrorism, but liberal and conservative critics say is a threat to individual liberties.

But lawmakers in both parties attacked the measure. "This battle is not over," said Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., who complained that the bill lacked "adequate safeguards to protect our constitutional freedoms." He vowed to do everything he could, including a filibuster, to stop the bill from passing.

Feingold was the only senator to vote against the original Patriot Act, which passed in the days following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Now, four years later, lawmakers in both parties appear more willing to express their opposition, on grounds that the bill fails to protect privacy rights. Three Republican and three Democratic senators issued a statement calling for revisions to give law enforcement "the tools they need while providing safeguards to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans."
Under the measure announced during the day, law enforcement officials could continue to obtain secret access to a variety of personal records from businesses, hospitals and other organizations, including libraries. Access is obtained by order of a secret court established under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The recipient of the request for information is subject to a gag order that cannot be challenged in court, according to officials.
On December 12, a bipartisan coalition of senators introduced a bill to extend the expiring PATRIOT Act provisions for three more months, to allow more time to develop a true compromise that addresses civil liberties concerns.

The ending isn't quite what Washington was expecting!

Get Ready Folks, Big Money Republicans are "stumbling through"
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Let Me Count Em For You
Topic: BIG MONEY PLAYERS

((1)) ---Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham is resigning from Congress after pleading guilty to taking more than $2 million in bribes in a criminal conspiracy involving at least three defense contractors.
After entering his plea in San Diego, California, the eight-term California Republican said he was "deeply sorry."

((2))---Jack Abramoff is "building to an explosion, one that could create immense collateral damage within Congress and in coming elections."

((3))---REPUBLICAN TOM DELAY, FORMER HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER, HAS BEEN INDICTED BY A GRAND JURY IN TEXAS. TOM DELAY FACES FELONY CHARGES FOR CONSPIRACY. *court held-over till Xmas holidays are over!

((4))---Concord, N.H. - President Bush's former New
England campaign chairman James Tobin, 44
was indicted Wednesday on
charges he took part in the jamming of the Democrats' get-out-the-vote phone lines on Election Day 2002.
James, stepped down Oct. 15 - two weeks
before Election Day - after the Democrats accused him of involvement.

((5))---Karl Rove, "The Special Counsel has advised Mr. Rove that he has made no decision about whether or not to bring charges and that Mr. Rove's status has not changed," said Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, in a statement released this morning. "Mr. Rove will continue to cooperate fully with the Special Counsel's efforts to complete the investigation. We are confident that when the Special Counsel finishes his work, he will conclude that Mr. Rove has done nothing wrong."

((6))---Scotter Libby, Now it will be quite interesting to see what happens with the Libby case. Will he try to take it to court? Will he seek a plea bargain? Many Republicans are obviously concerned that a trial of Scooter Libby, on this kind of information - about when he learned it and how he learned it and why he learned it - could, in effect, put the Iraq war on trial -- as Mr. Libby could put the vice president on trial in a symbolic way, as much as Mr. Libby. And put the entire Bush administration on trial in a symbolic way.

((7))--- Ohio Gov. Bob Taft (R), a member of one of the most distinguished families in American politics, was indicted on Aug 18 05 on four criminal misdemeanor counts for failing to report a series of golf outings, dinners and other gifts in a scandal that has rocked the powerful state Republican Party. The violations carry maximum penalties of a $1,000 fine and six months in prison, although it is doubtful the governor will face prison time for the ethical lapses.

wow! stay tuned Z3 readers

Much More To Come I Am Sure!

They tortured a guy to use the Info for War then find out they are wrong & say nothing to us?!
Now Playing: Curveball = Bad Info + Torture = Bad Info = STUPIDITY!
Topic: WAR
I cant resist a headline that reports we (USA) are Torturing and the information FROM the torturing is being used AS intelligence AND then!!!.. we find that it was lies and false information probably due to saying anything to "MAKE THEM STOP"
heck who wouldn't lie to make it stop when you think about it.

???? (gosh we are a bunch of stupid americans)????
Has this country lost its morals?
Has this country lost is ethics

I Know we didn't loose "Our Liberty"
..........(( oh! no! ---it was stolen! ))

OK, Z3 readers, the theory that the torturing is providing bad information because the person "getting the stick" shall we say is more apt to lie to get the pain to stop and the torturers to quit.
*WHAT STRIKES ME AS WRONG IS THE CONNOTATION THAT WE CAN HURT PEOPLE FOR INFORMATION IN THE FIRST PLACE* AND THAT WE EVEN CONSIDER IT AN OPTION, THE MERE FACT THAT THE RESULTS OF THIS THOUGHT PROCESS IS CONTINGENT THAT THE DERIVED INFORMATION IS POTENTIALLY GOING TO BE FALSE SO FOR "THAT REASON" TORTURING ISN'T WORTH IT OR GOOD TO DO "ANYWAY" IS DEMENTED, PERVERTED, AND SICK. ....."oh since they are gonna lie I guess it isn't worth it"

#1
you will go to hell if you believe in God if you support this type of treatment I will guarantee it
#2
you will someday be blessed with the karma that you richly deserve, and if you promoted, encouraged, or tolerated, it so may you relish in your "just-return"
#3 You will find out that what goes around will come around, what is fun and games to do to captive prisoners when bored or serious water boarding type of treatment, it will be real interesting to see the War Crime Tribunal or who know who it may be ...drag you away to a dungeon in some black hole to make you pay your just dues.

I like the sound of that
"TO PAY YOUR JUST DUES!"

So todays headlines in the Friday NY Times front page has this to say. Interesting to note, this goes to show you how one more time -AGAIN the American people are lied to and cheated. This info has been out since March 2004 yet hardly mentioned and this Administration does nothing after it is all said and done(rendition, torture, lies, war, death, ooppppppss we made a mistake since you mention it. no acknowledgment of this nor an apology either)

I love these bums!

(quote) WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 - The Bush administration based a crucial prewar assertion about ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda on detailed statements made by a prisoner while in Egyptian custody who later said he had fabricated them to escape harsh treatment, according to current and former government officials.

The officials said the captive, Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, provided his most specific and elaborate accounts about ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda only after he was secretly handed over to Egypt by the United States in January 2002, in a process known as rendition.

The new disclosure provides the first public evidence that bad intelligence on Iraq may have resulted partly from the administration's heavy reliance on third countries to carry out interrogations of Qaeda members and others detained as part of American counterterrorism efforts. The Bush administration used Mr. Libi's accounts as the basis for its prewar claims, now discredited, that ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda included training in explosives and chemical weapons.

The fact that Mr. Libi recanted after the American invasion of Iraq and that intelligence based on his remarks was withdrawn by the C.I.A. in March 2004 has been public for more than a year. But American officials had not previously acknowledged either that Mr. Libi made the false statements in foreign custody or that Mr. Libi contended that his statements had been coerced.

A government official said that some intelligence provided by Mr. Libi about Al Qaeda had been accurate, and that Mr. Libi's claims that he had been treated harshly in Egyptian custody had not been corroborated.
(end quote) read the article HERE

And this stinking article is going to infer that welllllll we don't know if we can collaborate if he was tortured or not!.........oh crap
I'm gonna get DRUNK.........
cant collaborate it ........hahahahah..
How about you physco government officials! collaborate this ...--> --> HERE <--
